About Our Park:
Dating back to 1887, Victoria Park is the oldest park in Salisbury and perhaps the most traditional: from the large gates to the perimeter fencing, Victoria Park reflects its heritage and history throughout.
Victoria Park can be split into two areas: The southern part of the park is typified by pretty flower beds, formal planting and established shrubs and trees, lending itself to pleasant walks and lazy afternoons. To complement this – offering something different, the northern part of the park features a large children’s play area and a variety of sporting facilities, including a football pitch and a pavilion.
Notably, the park is also home to the Victoria Park Community Tennis Centre. They are currently running Tennis for Free sessions which run on Saturday mornings. For more information about these sports – including availability and prices - please see below:
From friendly games and fun days to coaching and tournaments, the Victoria Park Community Tennis Centre is open to the whole community and is perfect for players of all ages and abilities. Please feel free to contact the centre direct on 01722 415089 or visit their website to book your court: http://www.victoriaparktennis.org.uk/
Friends of Victoria Park:
Friends of Victoria Park are an active group of volunteers who meet on a regular basis. The tasks they carry out include weeding planning, planting, litter picking, highlighting issues with the Parks Dept, and proposing and implementing ideas for improving the park for the local community. They are always grateful for the new members.
